Valentine's Day is just around the corner, and whether you're celebrating with a new love or your spouse of many years, a nice dinner is an excellent way to show how much you care. Daphne and the surrounding area have many different options offering you and your special someone a delicious meal and a romantic atmosphere to enjoy the holiday. Our Tameron Buick GMC sales team invites you to check out four of the best restaurants in Daphne, Alabama, for Valentine's Day.
Boudreaux's Cajun Grill
Create a memorable dining experience at Boudreaux's Cajun Grill, located at 29249 U.S. Highway 98 in Daphne. The gorgeous views of Mobile Bay, combined with filling plates of flavorful Louisiana cuisine, will surely make your significant other happy this Valentine's Day. Order a signature cocktail, such as the Front Porch Nectar, made with agave nectar, berry vodka, fresh citrus joists, and blackberries, and topped with a splash of Stone IPA. Appetizers include Swamp Cakes, Kickin' Crawfish, and Thibodeaux's Pimento Cheese. Try some of the Bayou Gumbo or their shrimp salad, perfect for a lighter appetite or as an add-on to your meal.
The Cajun Specialties menu features shrimp creole, crawfish etouffee, Plaquemine parmigiana, and bone-in pork chop, among the favorites. You can also get Mardi Gras pasta, voodoo pasta, or chicken Alfredeaux from the New Orleans Pasta menu. Hand-cut steak options include a 7-ounce or 10-ounce Wagyu sirloin, 12-ounce ribeye, or 8-ounce filet mignon. Fresh fish options are also on Boudreaux's menu, from blackened catfish to grilled salmon. You'll also find po'boys, steakburgers, and fried platters. Signature sides include grit cakes, braised greens, and coleslaw.
You'll want to save room for dessert with a selection of Bananas Foster Bread Pudding, key lime pie, beignets, brownie a la mode, and Nutty Chockay to finish your dining experience. Boudreaux's Cajun Grill is open Wednesday through Saturday from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m., and reservations are strongly encouraged for Valentine's Day to ensure your spot. You can also join them for brunch on Sundays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., featuring a special brunch menu.
Southwood Kitchen
Another great option for Valentine's Day dinner with your sweetheart is Southwood Kitchen, located just down the road at 1203 U.S. Highway 98, Suite 3D, in Daphne. Starters include Joyce Farm's wing chops, tempura squash blossoms, Alabama jumbo crab claws, and pork belly with watermelon. Salads, such as the Local Appetite Living Lettuce or tomatoes with fresh mozzarella, are also available to get your palate ready. Try the mahi, French hermit oysters, halibut, Black Angus filet medallions, or Durham Ranch elk tenderloin from the dinner menu for your main course. For a little more, you can add Alabama jumbo lump crab to any entree.
If you opt to celebrate Valentine's Day over lunch, your options include boutique oysters, buttermilk onion straws, and hot crawfish artichoke dip for starters. Entrees include beef tenderloin risotto, grilled salmon salad, a house-ground burger, Snake River Wagyu French Dip, or Frank's Hot Chicken Sandwich. Southwood Kitchen is open for lunch Tuesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. or dinner from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Reservations are requested for Valentine's Day and are available online any day.
Gambino's Original Italian Grill
For the best Italian classics, steaks, seafood, entertainment, and atmosphere, visit Gambino's Original Italian Grill. Located at 18 Laurel Ave. in Fairhope, just 15 minutes away from Daphne, Gambino's is open from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday, staying open an hour later on Friday and Saturday and closing at 8:30 p.m. on Sunday. Start your evening with steamed mussels, fried mushrooms, calamari fritte, Gambino's char-broiled oysters, or crab-stuffed bacon-wrapped grilled jalapenos. You'll also find a shrimp or steak salad, shrimp and crab gumbo, and a soup of the day.
Classic Italian pasta options include fettuccine alfredo, penno pesto, spaghetti, steak romano, and tri-pasta tortellini. Veal is available as marsala, rocco, parmigiana, picatta, and zingari. You can also enjoy a fresh slice of lasagna, manicotti, eggplant parmigiana, or jumbo beef ravioli. The chicken options include marsala, fettuccine alfredo, tortellini, picatta, pesto penne, sorrentino, parmigiana, rocco, zingari, and napoli.
If you seek seafood, check out the fried or broiled seafood dinner, linguine with clam sauce, shrimp scampiano, triggerfish, crab claw dinner, or grilled shrimp. You can also enjoy a 16- or 24-ounce prime rib, steak and shrimp, grilled veggie skewers, Rick's Porterhouse, and grilled sea scallops. If you cannot get a babysitter for the children, Gambino's offers a kids menu with chicken fingers, shrimp, spaghetti, fish, lasagna, and pizza options. Bangkok Thai Daphne
For a different dining experience, check out Bangkok Thai Daphne, just a few minutes from Jubilee Square and Bayfront Park at 28600 U.S. Highway L. It’s open from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday through Monday. Appetizers include spring rolls, fried wontons, crab rangoon, edamame, fried tofu, and neam-sod chicken. Salad options include a Thai chicken salad, seaweed salad, and spicy squid salad. Bangkok Thai Daphne has excellent tom yum soups with chicken, shrimp, vegetables, and seafood, or you can try the wonton soup with or without noodles.
Entree offerings such as pad sweet and sour, volcanic beef, ka paw seafood, red curry, chow mein, pad woonsen, spicy fish, and soft shell crab in panang curry are sure to hit the spot. You can also get fried rice with pork, chicken, beef, shrimp, crab, and tofu. Japanese menu items include orange teriyaki and vegetable tempura with or without shrimp. Bangkok Thai Daphne offers Thai donuts and sweet rice with custard to wrap up your meal.
