GMC is a rugged, dependable brand with huge capability numbers on its trucks and SUVs. Buick is a sporty and uniquely detail-oriented luxury automaker that likes to experiment and optimize its vehicles. There's always something new and exciting to look forward to with these two brands, especially now that the automobile market is undergoing exciting changes like autonomous driving and electrification. Let's look at the models GMC and Buick will be debuting in the 2023 model year.

2023 Yukon Denali Ultimate

The GMC Yukon is the brand's full-size SUV, and most people who know about the Yukon or any GMC wagon know about the Denali. This luxury trim level appears on most of the GMC lineup and adds an all-black, ultra-luxurious makeover to the interior and exterior. However, get ready for a new standard of top-level luxury in the form of the 2023 Yukon Denali Ultimate.

The Denali Ultimate will present all the latest advancements by GMC, like Super Cruise, a mode that lets you sit back while the car drives itself. This feature works on most major highways in Alabama and the rest of the U.S. It also works while towing a trailer and can automatically change lanes based on navigation or your directions. In addition to all the current features returning on the 2023 Yukon Denali, the Ultimate will sport a new 18-speaker performance-oriented audio system with speakers built into the head restraints.

Whether you choose the 6.2-liter V-8 or the 3.0-liter turbo-diesel engine with a 10-speed automatic transmission, all versions of the Denali Ultimate will come with an air ride adaptive suspension, active response 4WD with an electronic limited-slip differential, a two-speed transfer case, and magnetic ride control. The cabin will include 16-way power front seats and little interior touches built from the regular Yukon Denali, like etched metal speaker grilles.

We can conclude that the 2023 GMC Yukon Denali Ultimate will have the same core shape and specs as the 2022 Yukon, with 25.5 cubic feet of cargo space, anywhere from 7,500 to 7,900 lbs of towing capacity, a 13-camera surround view system, a power-sliding center console, and a 15-inch driver information display. However, there may be other improvements or replacements. The Yukon is full-size luxury, and you'll be excited to see just how fancy the Denali version can get.

2023 GMC Hummer EV SUV

One of the easiest vehicles you can spot on the road, the Hummer is a squat, square SUV with plenty of room, power, and off-road capability. However, until now, the last edition released was in 2010. GMC has brought back their classic Hummer in a concept loyal to the original's appeal while introducing a revolutionary electric off-roader.

Apart from 830 horsepower and advanced features like Super Cruise, this SUV provides a handy power swing gate in the rear. The cabin looks fantastic in your choice of either Lunar Horizon or Lunar Shadow high-durability comfort cloth with matching all-weather flooring. You'll also get an infinity roof with modular sky panels, letting you drive in the open air, enjoy a sealed cabin, or try something in between.

The electric Hummer is built on GM's new Ultium battery technology, which can fast charge 100 miles onto the battery in 10 minutes. It's also shown a remarkable range of 329 miles or more on one charge. This new take on the GMC vehicle is just as impressive on the inside, boasting a functional but stylish interior and a huge touch screen to match a similar screen below the driver's line of sight.

2023 GMC Hummer EV Pickup Truck

The pickup truck version of the electric Hummer takes the same SUV frame, capable of taking the top down, and adds a five-foot bed in place of the rear cargo and hatch door. Apart from the tactile, stylish grooves decorating the bed floor, the main advantage of the truck version is boosted power ratings: up to 1,000 horsepower and a zero-to-60 mph time of three seconds flat with the right equipment. In every way you could scrutinize a truck, the Hummer EV quickly proves its potential.

For instance, 2023 Hummer Pickup models all come with the MultiPro tailgate that can swap in and out of six configurable positions, including lowering a shorter, sub-tailgate segment of the main hatch. Like the SUV version, this electric truck can drive diagonally at low speed to slip in and out of tricky corners using the included CrabWalk setting. Both models also have Extract Mode, which lifts the Hummer on the adaptive air suspension by an additional six inches to ford river crossings or tackle boulders in your way.

Buick Wildcat EV Concept

Buick has announced plans to re-design their badge and overall visual approach on certain vehicles. As part of the many changes, their first electric car should be available for a 2024 or 2025 model year, currently under the working title of the Buick Wildcat, also called Buick Wildcat Electra. With its feline, assertive exterior and retro-futuristic interior, the Wildcat is an introduction to Buick's take on electric luxury sports cars.

The Wildcat will use artificial intelligence and biometric technology to help you enjoy it to the fullest, although we don't know much more just yet. From the reveal footage and images so far, we know it will likely include a very dramatic body design, with chrome wheels using angled fan-style spokes. Buick has stated it will only sell electric vehicles in the U.S. and Canada by 2030, so further updates on the Wildcat may help lend a preview of that all-electric future.
